The General Conference Women's Ministries Department and Dr. Omobonike Sessou, director of Women's Ministries in the West-Central Africa Division (WAD), coordinated the launch of a pilot trauma recovery project at Babcock University in Ogun State, Nigeria. The Healing of Trauma training took place February 19–22. The workshop, titled “Biblical Strategies for Healing Trauma,” was developed by Drs. Ann and Loren Hamel and Drs. David and Beverly Sedlacek for the GC Women’s Ministries Department. A total of 31 women came to the university for this training. The participants expressed their gratitude for the workshop, and many of them experienced the healing of their own traumas. They will be conducting the same training they received for all of the WAD unions throughout March. Please keep them in your prayers. GC WM looks forward to the continued development of projects to empower women to overcome trauma.
