Online baptismal classes garner 94% success rate in making decisions for baptism.

The COVID-19 pandemic necessitated the use of alternate methods of evangelism. In 2021 and 2022 we had to find a way of doing baptismal classes online. These classes were held once a week on a Sunday evening utilizing Zoom.

Two classes were conducted each week: a senior class and a teen’s class. A total of 10 baptismal candidates who joined the online classes with absolute regularity and faithfulness which was sometimes made difficult by load shedding and connectivity issues, another 6 joined another class.

The lessons covered the 28 fundamental beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist church. It was done in a structured form in which the baptismal candidates had to complete their lessons during the week, and a class discussion was held when they met online. The answers to all the questions were thoroughly dealt with by a careful assessing of the candidates understanding of the doctrines.

At the end of the baptismal studies, 15 of the 16 baptismal candidates were baptized during November 2022.

It was a blessing to work with such enthusiastic and eager candidates and we pray that God will bless our endeavors with greater success this year.
